We welcome Fraserburgh to Christie Park for the start of a new season.

Despite some mixed pre-season results and performances, we are where we wanted to be in that we have regained match fitness which is the goal from the outset. We now get to put the running and heavier fitness work behind us as we look to make a bright start to the new season.…

It’s been a season of two halves really with great promise shown in the early part but a combination of loss of form, disruption and injuries seeing us fall away in the second half of the season. That said, I don’t think anybody at the club would have imagined that we would achieve the progress that has been made during the last 12 months both on and off the park. This time last year we were travelling to Fraserburgh for the final game with just Adz, Hastie and I confirmed signings for the following season and so to have so many good players tied up going forward is a great platform to build on. The win against Keith was great to be a part of and the team worked very hard for each other. With that gone, there is no better challenge for us than to take on Forres Mechanics tomorrow. They have proven to be very consistent in their results and we don’t feel that we did ourselves justice in the return fixture so we will be fired up for it.

It goes without saying we were all gutted with the back to back derby defeats. In particular, the home defeat hurt as we were outplayed and outfought. There was some improvement in the away performance but we were again floored by two quick goals which we struggled to recover from. Our defensive form has gone completely out of the window and it is up to us a back line to get on top of games again. We will be looking to make that happen today.
