Welcome to our final match of the season against Nairn. This is a very difficult match to end what we can all appreciate has been quite a difficult season. I went to watch Nairn defeat Formartine last week and they were very impressive with Connor Gethins as usual stealing the show. In my opinion he is the best forward in the league and our defence will have to be switched on today to deal with him.

It will be good to see Adam Naismith return to Christie Park. Unfortunately he will be suspended today but he was an important very honest player for us for the last couple of seasons and so it will be good to see him make the trip through.

From our point of view, there are still two places in the table that we could climb if we are able to pick up the three points and so it is important that we are professional. While we haven’t performed as highly as we should have it is a real opportunity to finish the season on a more positive note.

As a team we really have to show why we should be entitled to remain a part of Huntly Football Club going in to a summer where it is clear that we need to bring more quality in to the side. We must finish the season positively against Nairn before we put in some serious work in pre-season to allow us to return to a position where we can begin to compete again. Keith have managed to win the Highland league cup this season and three points against Nairn could see us finish above them so there is no reason why with further work we shouldn’t be winning silverware next year.
