It’s another game to look forward to at Christie Park with another of the title contenders coming to visit. We acquitted ourselves well last weekend but shot ourselves in the foot on a couple of occasions and we are all aware that if we are to push on as a team this is the area that we must improve upon.

It was great to have Russell Guild come back in to the team last week. I felt that for the first fifteen minutes that he came on and we reshuffled with myself going back to right back we were well on top and I think everyone in the ground was confident that we would go on to secure a result. It will be a real boost to the team to see Guildy get minutes under his belt and start dictating games for us again.

Top marks to Mikey Ewen last week. It was a great finish from him to seal the points with the third goal finishing the match as a contest. Formartine have spent a lot of money and I guess that’s the kind of quality it is bringing into their side.

Wick Academy have a structure which is the polar opposite to Formartine United’s with a group of really talented local players. The number of players that have benefited from having full time spells with Ross County has really set them up to be a real force in the league. That said they were very fortunate to snatch the points late in the game last year and there is no doubt we are going out to steal the points ourselves this year.

With two teams intent on playing passing football this should be a really good match for the fans. Fingers crossed we are able to deliver the right result to top it off.
