The Scottish Cup first round is always a big occasion but when you put Rangers in the second round hat, it makes the tie with Wigtown massively important.

The defeat to Clach was very frustrating as we dug ourselves into a hole which proved too big to get out off. However, it has still been a very promising start to the season with everything still to play for including a double header to come against Formartine which means a lot to the club for a variety of reasons. Therefore, with these big games arriving thick and fast it is important that we stick together as a squad and stay positive and keep the buzz that is around the team at the moment.

There have already been a couple of big performances against Nairn and Buckie which have been games where we have maybe gone in as underdogs and it is up to us now to prove that we have the ability to unlock games which people are expecting us to win.

This cup tie will be a real test of that and if our midfield can stay as strong as it has been, with Guildy in particular being exceptional, then I expect us to create enough chances on the day.  A Scottish Cup run can lead to real progress within a Highland League club both on and off the park and we will do all that we can to rise to the challenge on Saturday. With home support giving us an edge, I hope we give you a performance to celebrate.

Enjoy the Game
