At this time of the season most teams are looking forward to a break and starting preparations for a new league campaign which will start in a few months’ time.

Some players will be needing time to recover from a hard season and some will be looking back at what could have been. I think all the players at Huntly FC will be looking back over the year with extreme disappointment at our level of play and results which have followed. Despite the occasional good performance, there has not been much to shout about on the pitch and everybody is going to have to work really hard to improve their personal levels of perform over the closed season if they are to feature again next season in what I am sure will be an improved team.

Playing the same opposition on two consecutive weekends can be a strange prospect but the postponed fixtures over the winter have left us in this scenario. I fully believe that we are capable of picking up the full 6 points against Fort William who are a decent side but if we are to progress as a team, these are the fixtures which we should be taking care of. We have had to make a lot of changes in recent weeks due to injuries and transfers but everybody who is playing today should be out to prove a point to the management team that they are good enough to play from the start of next season.

I know that there will be a few disappointed Huntly FC supporters but we will continue to do everything which we can to improve the performances. Your support is always appreciated and I hope that you enjoy the game today and hopefully some celebrations afterwards.
