Huntly have received a signing boost with a fifth player extending his stay at the club.

After Alexander Thoirs, Neale Davidson, Fraser Hobday and Blair Johnston signed new contracts recently, midfielder Ian Cruickshank has followed suit penning a new deal which will keep him at Christie Park until 2018.

Cruickshank originally debuted for the club as a trialist against Buckie Thistle in March 2014 before signing a few months later from junior side Banks O’ Dee.

The 29 year old was a regular in midfield for the black and gold’s since signing and scored 11 goals in 53 games.

Speaking this afternoon, Co-Manager Mark Gray was pleased to get another key player signed up again.

“Ian is certainly a key part of our squad, he’s a good motivator in the dressing room and on the pitch and getting him signed up for another two years is a bonus for the club. He’s got a good attitude and has come on leaps and bounds since we took him the club and that was shown with the goals he’s both scored and created. He’s had some injury problems but since coming back he’s looking a stronger player for us.

It’s a good bit of business going forward and there’s a really good atmosphere in training at present.”
