Huntly have received a signing boost with two players committing themselves to another two years at the club.

Blair Johnston and Neale Davidson have today finalised two year contract extensions which will tie the pair to the club until 2018.

Speaking after getting the pair signed up again, Co-Manager Mark Gray was pleased to get the deals done.

“It’s great for the club to get them signed up again and get things in place looking ahead to next season as well. It’s a good boost for everyone at the club having them signed up.

Blair came back off the bench against Locos and was excellent and he’s happy to be back playing. We’ll continue to nurse him back to full fitness and will look to get him playing for the under 20s and see how he progresses.

Neale’s now our longest serving player after I retired myself. I know what he can do, I played with him since he came to the club in 2011 and he’s a key player for us and hopefully he keeps doing what he does best playing the way he does.”

nealedavidsonNeale Davidson (24), who signed for the club in May 2011 from Lewis United, admitted that once a new management team was in place he had no problem signing a new deal.

“Things were a bit unclear for a couple of weeks but once everything was settled down and the management were announced and I can commit myself to the club and concentrate on playing. Everything is clear now to the players, we know which direction we’re going in and we’re staying to play well again.

When I was told I was the longest serving player at the club it makes you feel a bit old at 24 but I enjoy it here and I’m delighted to be back playing after injury and I’m focused on the next two and a half years.”

blairjohnstonAfter making his return to action in the recent defeat to Inverurie Loco Works, left back Blair Johnston (24) is pleased to extend his stay with the club who took him back to the Highland League in July 2014.

“Having been out for a while and with the way things are going, things are moving forward on and off the pitch and I’m happy to sign up for another two years and see where the club is going.

Doug and Mark have been in charge for a short time now but they’re working hard to get players signed up. Some have signed already and a few more are looking to do the same. It helps give the club a big lift and gets some continuity in the squad.”
