McGinlay said: “David has been working hard and we agreed a deal a few weeks ago for him to stay and he wanted to see that the club was progressing particularly off the park as well. He’s just recently passed his chartered accountancy exams so we’ve got him signed up for a year but will sit down before Christmas and take it from there.

Russell Guild is due a high profile game coming up against Aberdeen and has also agreed to sign for another year and he’s done a favour to the club in continue his commitment to his local side. His testimonial committee have looked after him and rightly so and getting him signed up is big news for the club and while we may be thin on numbers I am actively trying to get players in. We have some other players training with us and I’d like to get a look at them over the course of pre-season.”
