Fans favourite Gavin Elphinstone is the latest member of the Huntly squad to sign a new deal keeping him at Christie Park until summer 2025.

The former Turriff United player came to the club in November 2020 and has made a big impression over the last thirteen months scoring 5 goals in 26 games.

Speaking on his decision to re-sign, Elphinstone said: “ It’s exciting to be asked to stay it makes me feel appreciated by the club, management and the players who were all pleased when I agreed to extend my stay by a couple of years.

The club are looking to keep players they’ve got and we know they’ll be looking to strengthen the squad too and keep improving on it but it shows the management are keen to build the club up.”

Speaking on the player extending his stay, Manager Allan Hale said: “ Gavin plays with such an intensity and loves being at the club and is well respected by everyone here. For him to commit shows we’re building that ability within the club in terms of the personnel we have and it give us that continuity that we’re looking for and it will help us keep building as we try to progress.”

Chairman Gordon Carter added: “It's Great to see Gavin sign a new contract with us. He has made a big impact in his time with the club both on and off the park.

He is a real character and quickly established himself as a fans favourite. It is really pleasing to see the comradery develop within the squad and he is a big part of that.”
