As most of you will know Angus Grant our talented young Striker who joined us from Turriff in May suffered a serious knee injury in the Aberdeenshire Cup quarter-final against Formartine on the 31st August.

An MRI has confirmed the early suspicions that he has a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament and a complete Rupture of his Lateral Collateral Ligament

The current post Covid NHS waiting times are such that going down this route would mean upwards of 2 years before he would be likely to get the necessary surgical treatment required. He would then need up to a year of rehabilitation.

Angus works as a Schools Football Coach which means without the injury being surgically repaired, he would not be able to continue working.

Angus has made a massive impression in his short time at our club both as a player and as a fine young man.

Therefore, the club have decided that the right thing to do is refer him to a private specialist.

He will be assessed by Professor Mackay with a view to having a Knee Ligament Reconstruction.

The club is like all football clubs struggling to cope with the financial impact of Covid 19.

We will look therefore to explore fundraising avenues to raise the necessary cash to pay for his surgery.

We hope we get support from our community whether it be from fans or from businesses.

We plan to have an online Auction and post Facebook raffle items in the near future. We also will start a Crowdfunding page.
The raffle at the Gold League Bingo on 1st October will get the fundraising started

Players well-being and support are at the heart of who we are as a football club that’s why we will do everything we can to get Angus the treatment he requires and back to doing what he loves – playing football.

Please can I ask you to support our efforts in any way you can.

Kind Regards

Gordon Carter
