A number of players have headed out on loan to junior sides for the 2021/22 season.

As confirmed in earlier stories, Owen Murison and Jamie Boylan have headed to Deveronside.

Forward Fergus Alberts, who joined the club in March has joined Montrose Roselea while midfielder Callum Reid returned to former side Stoneywood-Parkvale where he was previously on loan in 2019/20.

Former youth development trio Mika Askildsen, Liam Harker and Keigan Mathers have went on loan  to Glentanar. Askildsen and Mathers were with Graham McBeath’s side in 2020/21 before the season was cut short.

Manager Allan Hale is pleased to get the younger players loaned out to help them gain vital experience and regular playing time.

He said: “It’s important that we use the loan system to build relationships with these clubs and making sure that year on year that we use the same clubs for players going out on loan. It’s something that works, I know Graham McBeath well and he’s and experienced coach whose been about the game a long time and players enjoy working under him and the same can be said about Ian Davidson at Stoneywood-Parkvale. Ian is a coach who has helped Huntly develop young players in the past by taking them on loan.

We’ve built up good relationships with the likes of those clubs in the period we’ve been here and we trust the work they do as the players will always come back improved following their time in the junior leagues”.
