Huntly have received a signing boost ahead of the 2020/21 season with a former player returning to the club.

Midfielder Cameron Booth (23) has returned to Christie Park on a two year contract until summer 2022.

The former Formartine United player came to the club initially in December 2017 under Charlie Charlesworth following a release from Turriff United. He spent two seasons at Huntly making 49 appearances and scoring 4 goals before heading to Australia in May 2019 where he most recently played for Grange Thistle.

Manager Allan Hale was delighted to have the player return to the club.

He said: “I am delighted to welcome Cammy back to the club. Despite being only 23, he has a lot of experience & played many games at this level. I’ve always been impressed with his ability and I feel he can be a player who can control and dictate the tempo of games.

Cammy also has a tenacity and energy to his game that will support us out of possession so I’m really pleased to welcome him & we look forward to working with him during his time with us.”

Club Chairman Gordon Carter added: “We are delighted to have re-signed Cammy on his return from Australia. He was a hugely popular player in his previous spell with us

His energy drive and commitment made him a fixture in the team , the fans particularly appreciating his work rate in winning back the ball

i am sure he will be an important player for us when the season eventually gets going.”
