Hours after we confirmed a change at boardroom level, we do have some good news with a player signing up ahead of this weekend.

Michael McGinlay has agreed terms to sign for the club until the end of the season with Manager John Teasdale pleased to get the player tied up after having to field him as a Trialist in the opening two league games.

“we offered him a contract a few week ago but he was unfortunate after playing a couple of friendly games where he picked up a couple of knocks which miss a bit of pre-season but I’m happy to have gotten him signed up until the end of the season as he’s a good player and well liked in the dressing room.”

The 22 year old son of former Scotland and Bolton striker John McGinlay made his Huntly debut in early February coming off the bench at Brora Rangers to score with a late winner. He went on to make sixteen squad appearances scoring four times in total and impressed after Teasdale took over.

“Michael’s been a bit unlucky with injuries and he’s a good lad who’ll add more competition for places in both midfield and attack. He ended the season well and showed he can score goals and create them too but he’ll need a few weeks of training to get up to speed and a couple of games to get himself going again, he’s got talent and will give us a couple of options in different positions.”
