Brora Rangers moved up to second with a tenth straight home win over Huntly.

Brora made one change from the side which defeated Deveronvale a week ago with Alisdair Sutherland in for Adam McKinnon. Huntly were without Gavin Elphinstone as Alexander Jack and Cameron Heslop both returned to the starting eleven.

The hosts broke the deadlock after eleven minutes. Glenn Murison was penalised for a foul on Jordan Macrae. Macrae took the free kick curling the dead ball round the wall.

Two minutes later, Tom Ritchie denied Brora a second turning Colin Williamson’s shot round the post.

Jordan Macrae would double the home side’s advantage in the 22nd minute heading home from a Gregor MacDonald cross.

Jordan Macrae completed his hat-trick four minutes later firing in a low shot after good build-up down the right wing.

Half-Time: Brora Rangers 3 Huntly 0

Tom Ritchie was called into action early in the second half blocking a Gregor MacDonald shot while two minutes later he got down to hold a downward header from Mark Nicolson.

Ritchie again kept the deficit down keeping out a Dale Gillespie shot in the 71st minute while six minutes later he denied Alasdair Sutherland with the winger through on goal.

Huntly came close to netting when Joel MacBeath ran onto a long ball from Kyle Dalling and after side-stepping his mark shot wide of the post.

Brora added a fourth with four minutes remaining courtesy of a low drive from Alasdair Sutherland.

Huntly almost grabbed a consolation with three minutes left with MacBeath’s low effort held by Joseph Malin.
