Huntly FC has re launched its major fundraiser the gold league and promised a bigger, brighter, more exciting competition.

The existing gold league has been running for around 2 years and currently has over 130 members, but because numbers did not reach the projected targets the prize had to be reduced. However the new board of the club are determined to make the scheme a big success and ensure it becomes a cornerstone of the clubs fundraising for years to come.

Chairman George Clark said that he had researched the previous model the Big League which was such a success and had remodelled it along similar lines.

”I had the opportunity to sit down with our honorary President Forbes Shand and really find out what made that such a winning formula. Mr Shand was very kind in giving up so much of his time for me and i found it a very useful learning curve and I'm sure we can use that to build the Gold League back up again.People might remember that at its peak the Big League had over a thousand members and if we can achieve even half that it would make a huge difference to the clubs finances”.

The new prize fund will include a quarterly draw for £1000, plus monthly draw for £500 plus the usual weekly prizes. To mark the re launch and encourage new members there will be a special draw for all members of £1000 on Friday the 2nd of August.

“We are very keen that the public should see the draw live and be part of the excitement, so the draw on the 2nd of august will be at 7pm in the social club and will be at the same time same place every week so i would encourage everyone to come along and join in.We also hope to take it to other venues round the town from time to time and we will announce that in the Huntly express.
We have also set up an independent panel to oversee the administration including previous administrator Sheila Shearer and Dr Gordon Carter will be the clubs representative to assist with the organisation.

I would encourage everyone to join today and support your local club. All the contact information is on the advert in this weeks Huntly Express or on the posters round the town.We really do appreciate everyone's support.”
