New Huntly signing Logan Johnstone had no hesitation in signing for the club following signing talks with the club’s management team.

The 19 year comes to Christie Park following the expiry of his contract with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and after two seasons on loan at Lossiemouth then Forres Mechanics, he is looking forward to a new challenge.

“I’ve had two good seasons in the Highland League and it was good for me to get that experience.

Charlie Rowley and the Forres squad were a good bunch of lads and I got to be part of a great team, I wish them all the best and I can’t wait to get started with Huntly and get going for the new season”

Having been with Caley, Logan admitted the full-time training mixed with Highland League games was a benefit for him.

“Full time football is good for training and it definitely develops you as a player but when you’re playing in the Highland League, you’re playing with men, it’s not at set age group like the under 19s or 20s. I feel like I’ve grown as a player in the last two years.”

Huntly have shown over the last two seasons how they’ve helped bring young players on loan to the club and Johnstone admitted it was a former player who encouraged him to sign.

“I spoke to Ryan McRitchie before I signed and he said I should take Huntly up on their offer as it’s a good club and there’s a good bunch of lads here to play with.”
