My Best Huntly XI I've Played With

Goalkeeper: Neil Hastie

Hastie was very consistent, great all round keeper.

Right Back: David Donald

Breezed through every game, I could count on one hand how many times he gave the ball away during his entire time at the club including training!
He was a player that looked like he never came out of second gear.

Centre Backs: Michael Hart & Craig Dorrat

Hart (left) : His experience that he brought to the team was incredible. Talked everyone through a game and his ability goes without saying.

Dorrat (right): No nonsense defender, he would go through a brick wall.
Don't think much people would fancy there chances in a 50/50 against him!

Left Back: Blair Johnston

Blair made this position his own for a number of years at the club, capable of the odd shell out the park but steady every week.

Right Wing: Paul Napier

Pele's technical ability was absolutely first class, his delivery was one of the best I've seen.
Always gave 100 percent every week.

Centre Midfield: Russell Guild & Barry Somers

Guild (left): What a player he was! He had the whole package. He controlled games on his own when he was on the ball.

Somers (right): Goal scoring machine! Baz was a big presence in the team and always had an eye for goal!

Left Wing: Gary McGowan

Tough one between Neale Davidson and McGoo but i will go for McGoo purely on goal return.
I've seen him tear some defences apart and get goals from absolutely nothing.
Not sure if he enjoyed a red card more than a goal though!!

Forwards: Dennis Wyness & David Booth

Wyness (left) Absolute pleasure to play with Denzil! He had the best first touch I have ever seen. He was a perfect role model for any youngster looking to learn from. Always kept himself in great shape and his career speaks for itself.

Booth (right): Very clever player with a great goal scoring record. I've played with Boothy for a number of years now and he is very composed in front of goal.

Substitutes

Shaun Barney:
Very good goalkeeper on his day.

Neil Reid:

Solid defender!

Kai Ross:

Tough one to leave out as he has incredible talent.

Neale Davidson:

Knew what you got every week with Neale! Machine!

Robert Duncanson:

RD only had a short spell at the club but he was outstanding!

Manager: I really couldn't give a single name for a manager, for me it's impossible to pick one out.

Dave McGinlay / Jim Cheyne brought me to the club and were absolutely brilliant, i loved every minute of playing under them.

Also Andy Roddie / Tommy Wilson were outstanding. The knowledge and experience they brought was unbelievable. They really brought Huntly back to being a strong force.

Finally Martin Skinner / Ricky Cheyne doing an incredible job with such a young team with so much more to come.
