Saturday is such a big game for us and with that in mind I chose to rest Russell Guild for Wednesday night’s friendly with Falkirk. Had he played and picked up a knock I don’t think I’d not have been able to sleep for the rest of the week if god forbid something happened knowing how much work his testimonial committee and other have done behind the scenes so it made sense not to risk him.

You could see against Falkirk even missing his presence in midfield, no disrespect to the players who came who looked a poorer side without him.…

Good afternoon and welcome to Nairn Fc for what is the final fixture of the season.
Such is the Highland League that yet again the title is going down to the wire with the clash between Formartine and Cove in Pitmedden.

As I have stated on a number of occasions teams in this League can be beaten on any given day and it wasn't a shock to me that Nairn turned Formartine over last weekend to set up a final day showdown.

However, I only wish Huntly were involved in a high profile game like this, and that is what we are striving to achieve It's not something that happens overnight unless you are a cash rich club or have longevity in building the foundations to get there.
Huntly are a wee bit away in some regards but that doesn't mean we can't get great results as we have had this season. Where we lack is in depth and experience but young kids can only get this from game time on the park and this season has seen a few who are in their second season struggle with consistency. I am sure they will benefit in the long term but next season must see an improved level from a number of these lads.
I feel we started the season with real promise and looked likely to gain at least a top six spot however after losing three key players around the same time had a significant impact on results, big Lukasz , Somers and Davie Booth all being out or leaving left us short on quality. Again had they all stayed and been fit added with Michael Hart then we certainly would have been in a far greater position.…

A warm welcome to Davie Kirkwood and his Brora team along with all their officials for today’s Highland League game.

This will no doubt be another game where we will have to work hard and stay focused to get anything out of the 90 minutes.…

We’ve had to kick some backsides after the game and one or two have been told it’s not good enough and maybe we’d need to take some out of the equation. I felt we missed Craig Dorrat against Locos as he’s been our best centre half; the big fella has come in the last three games and looked a good centre half playing alongside Michael Hart. I’ve got big Sam (McKenzie) coming back and hopefully that’ll give us a bit more steel and desire at the back as I didn’t see enough of that last week

At the moment if I made seven changes for the Buckie game I would. Going into the game you’ve to see how players respond in training leading up to the fixture and we’ll make the changes we feel are necessary with trying to build both in the short-term and the long-term.

I haven’t been on the end of too many beatings like that over my career as a player and I hope the players are disgusted with themselves because a management team we’re hurting as well. We asked them to play a certain way at Inverurie and tried to over-emphasise things to the players and it worked for about half an hour on a pitch which was getting churned up. We all need to look at ourselves and ask ourselves how can we be better? This season Formartine were the only team who gave us a real doing and on Saturday as much as it was our doing it was a case of us giving away soft goals.

{pullquote}Adam showed a great deal of professionalism that others could learn from{/pullquote}Last week saw two departures with Jason Coyle loaned out to Dyce and Adam Naismith sold to Nairn County. We’ve signed other strikers this season with the likes of Marek Mádle who should get a run in the team before the end of the season and we felt that Jason would be better getting some game time elsewhere and if it works for him and he comes back a better player that’ll be great for us. I don’t see the point in having a squad where a player like him is going to be on the fringes when he could get regular football elsewhere.

Adam’s obviously gone and I think I need to go on record to say that people like Adam are going to be a big miss to the club. We got a good deal for him and we had to let him go. His work situation has changed recently and the club’s not blessed with big finances like other teams in the Highland League and I feel Adam showed a great deal of professionalism that others could learn from.”

Good afternoon and a warm welcome to Graeme McBeath and his Rothes team for today's Highland League encounter.

We as almost everyone in the country at a part time level have had a rough time over the last month or two with the inclement weather and we are no different to any club with regards to financially having to continue with paying wages to players with little or zero finance coming in due to the games being off over the past couple of months.…
