Happy New Year to you all!

Good afternoon and welcome to Pele and his Formartine squad for today's Highland League encounter.

Looking at the table it seems Formartine and Nairn have benefitted most from actually not having so many games over the last month or so, however I have no doubt despite having several games in hand both teams would rather have played and accumulated as many points rather than be inactive for so long.

Formartine pulled of a great win last week at Loco's and I still believe that they amongst Brora and Wick and Cove will be the ones at the top come May.

Our last game against Steve's side ended up as our biggest loss this season and one where our young lads learnt a lot about playing an experienced team packed with quality who punished us considerably on that day.

There is no doubt that Steve will be the first to say that he is thankful that he has been backed again by the chairman after a tough year last season and this has been borne out by a squad developing during the last 2 years.

Currently we have had a poor spell where we have done enough in most games to have taken something out each game.

Last week we felt we could have played for another few hours and not scored. We as most teams would have struggled without our three strikers and I hope we have one or two back for today.

Injuries have played a part lately and that's been tough on us however we have to get on with it and hope we get all the lads back soon to bolster the squad for the rest of the season.

Also I hope to have an update on David Booth this weekend and there is no doubt the wee man has been a big miss since his injury.

Today's game will be another tough one as are all the games these days but one I am looking forward to.

Your support over the last year is really appreciated by all the lads and most of you understand we are a team that will need time to develop and learn.

All the best McGin
