Huntly have received a signing boost with a key player signing a two year contract extension.

Kai Ross has completed a contract extension which ties him to the club until summer 2022.

The 24 year who features in midfield and attack is in his second season at the club since signing in summer 2018 from Buckie Thistle is pleased to extend his time at the club.

He said: “Martin Skinner has been on at me for a while to re-sign and it was important to get myself tied down for another two seasons. It’s been really positive lately and we’re going the right way. We’ve already had the likes of Glenn Murison and Ross Still extended their deals last season and it was important for the club to get key players retained and keep building.”

I’ve enjoyed my time here; this is my first time in four to five seasons in the Highland League where I’ve not been out injured and I feel my fitness has improved.”

Manager Martin Skinner was delighted the player has signed on again

“It’s a great piece of business for the club and it’s a deal which suits us and Kai. We you see his performance stats, he can go about his business on the pitch quietly but his assists, this season especially have been really high. We’ve not had some getting into double figures from assists regularly since the likes of Neale Davidson and Paul Napier were playing for us and we know he’s capable of producing more.

He’s chipped in with goals too and has given us a number of options whether it’s up top or anywhere across the midfield, he’s shown lately why he is a crucial part of the team and has that spark . The players love him on and off pitch as do the management team.”

Chairman Gordon Carter was pleased to see the management get another contract extension completed.

“The Management Team rate Kai very highly and we have backed their judgement by securing his services for a further two years.

It is part of the ongoing process of building a young and talented squad. Recent performances and results have been very encouraging and the increasing confidence of the players is obvious.”
