Huntly FC have this evening confirmed the appointment of their new Management team, Martin Skinner and Ricky Cheyne.

Martin has recently been acting as caretaker manager in a period which has seen three wins in four games including an impressive away win at Fraserburgh who currently lead the Highland League.

Martin enjoyed a playing career which included spells with  Aberdeen, Peterhead, and Huntly. He also represented Scotland at under 17 and under 19 level on numerous occasions.

A cruciate ligament injury brought 'Skins' playing career to an early end and his focus since then has been on coaching. He has acquired a UEFA 'B' License, has run his own coaching school, and progressed into the senior game with his assistant management  role at Keith FC during 2017/18.

Ricky Cheyne, who will assume the role as Assistant Manager,  has an impressive pedigree at the most senior level of Scottish football both  as a coach and as an International Scout for the SFA. He has  a significant network of contacts throughout the senior game.
Ricky worked with the Aberdeen Youth Academy for 19 years and has managerial experience at Banks O'Dee and Lewis United, as well as coaching at Peterhead.
He currently holds a UEFA  ' B ' License and is an  Elite Performance Scout for the Under 15 to ' A ' international squads for Scotland.

New manager Skinner was delighted at this outcome '' I am so pleased to be given this opportunity. We have a very young but capable squad with significant development potential but we also have a good blend of experienced campaigners as well. Ricky and I can't wait to get going and to repay the faith that has been shown in us''

Huntly FC's Director of Football Steve Innes was pleased to conclude a comprehensive recruitment process and commented :
''' We have been extremely impressed with Martin's vision for the club which has a strong emphasis on developing young players. Although he is only 29 and therefore one of the youngest managers in Scottish senior football, he clearly has an excellent rapport with the current squad and his acquisition of  Ricky Cheyne and the experience he brings to the team, is without doubt a coup for Huntly Football Club''
