Huntly’s summer signing spree continues with a third defensive player joining the club from Nairn County.

Defender Sean Webb is the latest to swap Station Park for Christie Park as he joins Adam Naismith and Martin Macdonald in signing from The Wee County.

Webb (33) brings a lot of experience to the current squad having played in England and Scotland as well as winning four caps for Northern Ireland.

Speaking today, Co-Manager Mark Gray believes getting a player of Webb’s pedigree is a boost for the club.

“Sean’s got a lot of experience; he’s played in the senior ranks in Scotland and England we’ve been looking to bring experienced players to the club. I’ve always been impressed with Sean even going back to when I saw him with Ross County.

A player like that adds quality to the team, he’s a good organiser at the back and when you look at the experience we’ve taken in like Dennis Wyness and Sean it shows a lot of ambition from the club.”

Sense he is going nowhere in a Huntly context. Played really well when catapulted into the team down at Gretna. But a long way from the first team now.

Good news. A class act. Maybe our best player this season.

Mixed feelings about this. I think he had something to give at this level. But we introduced a number of wingers at the start of the season to the first team squad and none have really convinced. The new management clearly identified it as a problem position and immediately recruited another wide player. It seems we will not be playing two out and out wingers any time soon, so something has to give.

For what it's worth, I thought his game as sole front man up at Nairn last season was a really fine performance.

Agree Premnay but if he doesn't want to stay. He should be playing rather than kicking his heels.

Shame this has not worked out. I reckon he is better than all the others who have kept goal since he left.
