The first ever league cup meeting between Strathspey Thistle and Huntly was finally played at the fifth attempt after a venue change to Buckie and it went the distance with the Jags setting up a midweek trip away to Formartine United after winning 5-4 on penalties.

After registering more than thirty attempts throughout the game, Huntly Manager Charlie Charlesworth was disappointing they didn’t take their chances in front of goal.

Ten-men Huntly came from behind to record their first victory at Turriff since 5th December 2009 with a 2-1 win.

Going into the game with a number of players unavailable through injury and suspensions, Co-manager Tommy Wilson praised the battling display from his players in difficult overhead and underfoot conditions.

Ten-man Cove Rangers maintained a 30 match unbeaten run in the league after they came from behind to secure a 3-1 win at Huntly.

Huntly have not beaten Cove since October 2009 as Co-Manager Andy Roddie admitted it was a game of two halves for his side.
