Huntly missed out on the chance for their first league win since October 3rd after an injury time penalty miss from Alexander Thoirs.

After coming from behind to earn a 2-2 draw, Co-Manager Mark Gray felt the decision to award his side a spot kick was questionable.

Gray was full of praise for his goalscorer Thoirs who is taking his chances in front of goal after netting four goals in the last three home matches.

Fraserburgh remain unbeaten in their last four league matches with Manager Mark Cowie feeling his side underperformed.

Cowie said: “Huntly had the better of the first half and when we’ve went 2-1 up I thought we would’ve sneaked it. They’ve had a good bit of fortune with their equaliser and it taken some bounce to go over Joe (Barbour)

I’m delighted to get a draw out of the game, that’s the worst we’ve played this season. There was no tempo, no effort and a lot of wrong decisions from us. I told the players I think I picked the wrong team – Aidan Combe scored two in two games now and it took until he came one to inject a bit of pace and urgency and he’s played his way into the team for next week now. I think I’ve maybe been too loyal to players and should just play those who are performing.

We were unfortunate to lose Ryan Christie to injury early on as he’s been one our top players this season and he’s a dominant figure in the middle of the park and to lose him early doors takes some reorganising.

It’s not often our back four has an off-day, we haven’t played too poorly but it still hurts. We’ve ambitions to do things in this league and I’ve told the players to come on board or find somewhere else to play their football. To be blunt we’ve lost too many points to so-called lesser teams and if you’re going to be challenging you need to be taking more from those games.

The penalty decision was a definite foul and was at least two yards outside the box and it was justice that Joe pulled off a good save”
