A solitary Thomas Coyne goal was enough to put East of Scotland League side Linlithgow Rose through to the Scottish Cup second round following a one-nil win over Huntly.

Huntly’s preparations weren’t helped after being delayed on the way to Linlithgow due to traffic tailbacks and they even had to make a change to their starting eleven after they got there when defender Christopher Herd failed a fitness test. Manager Martin Skinner was frustrated not to see his side force a replay late on in the game.

Linlithgow are now seven games unbeaten against Highland League opposition in the cup as Manager Mark Bradley was pleased to get through to round two.
