Huntly recorded only their third league win over Formartine United at North Lodge Park as former United forward Michael Ewen did the damage against his team with a goal in each half.

Here's what Co-Manager Tommy Wilson had to say on the win:

“Not for the first time this season we’ve seen Michael Ewen on target against one of his former clubs, I thought he and Dennis (Wyness) worked well again while Ryan Stewart has made the step up from the amateur ranks recently and as you could see from the ball for the second goal there’s a lot more to come from him.

We were unlucky with the goal we conceded, it was one of those things, Formartine are a decent side and will come at you, create chances but I thought to a man we defended really well. David Donald, Michael Clark, Glenn (Murison) did really well and it was nice to see big Kieran (Adams) come on and play a part.

We thought towards the end of the game they (Formartine) would get more into the box and Kieran’s a big presence and it made sense to get a third centre back in there to defend high balls which is what they resorted to late on and we defended it well.

Craig Reid has come in during the last two games and like everyone in the squad , once you get in and play well you’ll hold onto your position, I thought Craig was phenomenal, he was commanding in a busy box, he’s coming for crosses, punching things away and when you come against the better teams you have to defend well.”
