A Robert Duncanson brace helped Huntly into the second round of the Scottish Cup with a 2-1 win away to junior side Girvan.

Having suffered defeat in their last meeting in Girvan six years ago, Huntly Co-Manager Mark Gray was delighted to see his side leave Hamilton Park with a win this time around.

Gray admitted going into the game they had a patched-up defence with a number of absentees.

Girvan Manager Peter Leonard was disappointed not to see his side build on their equalising goal.

We'll have more from Mark Gray in this Saturday's match programme. Keep an eye on the site later in  the week for two player interviews.

Highlights a fair reflection on the game. Spartans comfortable winners as expected. Huntly doing well to limit the damage to two.

I saw Neale perform very well in the same role in a friendly against Montrose Roselea and it's good to have that versatility in the squad.

Dennis and Robbie are looking a good partnership while Joe Burr was impressive on the right wing.

Agree. Would also mention Neale Allan who must have given manager food for thought with excellent game in central defence.
