Rothes secured their first win at Christie Park since 6th August 2006 with a 3-1 victory over Huntly.
Huntly were missing defender Craig Dorrat through injury as Glenn Murison came in for his first appearance of the season. There was no Huntly return for former loan player Ryan McRitchie who was left on the bench for the visitors.
Rothes took the lead in the seventeenth minute when a quick free kick from Jack Maley was delivered into the home goalmouth and the unfortunate Ashley Ballam headed into his own net on his league debut.
The lead didn’t last and when a Nathan Meres corner kick was not dealt with, Christopher Herd converted at the back post for his first Huntly goal.
In the 27 th minute, Bruce Milne’s header looked goalbound only for Alexander Jack to head off the line.
With five minutes of the half remaining, Liam MacDonald was fouled as he went for a high ball outside the area and the ball broke to Jack Maley to power home with a great strike.

John Farquhar came to his side’s rescue denying Jack Maley his second turning the midfielder’s shot round the post.
After the hour mark, there were offside claims as Steven Anderson broke forward before firing high into the net.
Huntly were dealt a blow when teenager Nathan Meres was injured following a collision with Jamie Duff and Gregg Main as the hosts had to play the last ten minutes with ten men.
