A late Michael Clark header saw Huntly edge out Lossiemouth to record their third win of the season against the Coaster’s.

Huntly gave a first start to goalkeeper Craig Reid since 27 th January 2018 while Bradley Manson started in place of Alexander Jack who picked up a knock at Buckie on Saturday. Brodie Allen dropped out of the visitors starting line-up as Fraser Forbes came in.

After failing to score in their last two meetings with Huntly, Lossiemouth came close when a low drive from Fraser Forbes was fingertipped away by Reid.

A Blair Johnston cross picked out Ross Still who was denied by Trevor Dear in goal.

With very few chances in the first half failing to make a breakthrough, there was some entertainment when Referee Paul McAvinue started being sick resulting in a stoppage in play.

A Scott Campbell free kick picked out Connor McCauley in the 18 th minute but Reid again pulled off another good save to keep the ball out.

Huntly passed up a glorious chance with three minutes of the half to go when Ross Still knocked the ball down for Nicholas Gray who fired wide from yards out.

Half-Time: Huntly 0 Lossiemouth 0

Referee McAvinue was still feeling unwell at the break and was unable to continue. There may have been a threat of an abandonment had it not been for off duty Assistant Referee Brian Fowlie coming out of the stand to run the line as Davy Robertson took up the refereeing duties.

Ross Still threatened twice from Kai Ross corners early in the second half coming close from two headed efforts.

Huntly’s Gray got in behind the visiting defence on 71 minutes only to see his shot roll wide of the far post.

Michael ClarkThe winner came with nine minutes to go when Kai Ross bent a corner into the front post for Michael Clark to power in a header at the front post.

The returning Reid kept the visitors out in denying substitute Brodie Allen from two free kicks late on. Lossie sub Moray Taylor looked offside as he got forward with six minutes to go but Reid stuck out a leg to keep out the teenager.

Allen saw a free kick parried by Reid deep into stoppage time but the home defence were alert to clear the follow up.
