Huntly’s poor run of form at home continued as they finished with ten men and went down four-nil to Inverurie Loco Works.

With nine minutes gone, Josh Bolton got by Ryan McRitchie and saw his initial shot blocked by Euan Storrier before reacting quick to the rebound to slot home. Looking to hit back, Huntly’s Ryan McRitchie came close minutes later with a header from Gary McGowan’s corner kick.

McGowan saw a low shot wide of the post in the eighteenth minute while the woodwork denied the hosts an equaliser two minutes when David Booth’s powerful drive coming back off the post with the keeper beaten.

Huntly were reduced to ten men after 27 minutes when garymcgowanGary McGowan was shown a straight red card for violent conduct after headbutt to Neil McLean.

Locos made their numerical advantage count with two goals in a six minute spell at the end of the first half. Jamie Michie’s free kick struck the bar in 39 minutes and when the ball rebounded back out, full back Christopher Herd was on hand to head home. With the first half heading into stoppage time, Neil McLean got forward for make it three with a low shot from inside the box.

Things got worse for Huntly when Assistant Manager Richard Cheyne was sent off at the interval following an altercation with goalscorer McLean. McLean was cautioned by Referee Mat Northcroft for his part in the incident.

The scoring was wrapped up in the 55th minute with the route one approach paying off again for the visitors. A long punt upfield released Christopher Angus and he rolled the ball into the path of Josh Bolton as the teenager added his second.

Midway through the half, Euan Storrier prevented a fifth when he stuck out a leg to deny Christopher Angus.

Huntly Captain Michael Clark looked to celebrate his 24th birthday with a goal and he headed over when he met a Kai Ross free kick with eleven minutes remaining.
