A solitary Stuart Soane goal gave Forres Mechanics a seventh straight win at Christie Park.

Huntly welcomed back Glenn Murison in place of the absent Kai Ross while John Farquhar continued in goal after Euan Storrier was ineligible against his parent club due to a loan agreement.

Forres threatened early on when a Stuart Soane shot was powered through a packed goalmouth only for the effort to go by the post.

The visitors took the lead in the tenth minute when a Scott Moore corner was not dealt with by the home defence and Stuart Soane got time on the ball to drill home.

Gary McGowan tried his luck five minutes later with a free kick which went wide of the post.

Half-Time: Huntly 0 Forres Mechanics 1

Huntly were still in search for an equaliser as McGowan’s shot rolled past the goal in the 67th minute. Further chances came the visitors with Andrew Macrae and Stuart Soane passing up opportunities as the game went on.

In the 85th minute, a dangerous cross from Glenn Murison was tipped away by Stuart Knight only as far as substitute Reece McKeown whose effort went over the bar.

Huntly finished the game with ten men when a straight legged challenge from Forres defender Graham Fraser resulted in teenager Reece McKeown suffering a broken tibula and fibula and having to be taken to hospital. Fraser was fortunate only to receive a caution over the incident.
